Joe Charnley, General Manager at Borg Locks was delighted to be able to gift five Bleed Control Cabinets and Bleed Control Kits to the Daniel Baird Foundation as part of Borg’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

Borg Locks has donated five Bleed Control Cabinets to the Daniel Baird FoundationJoe said: “A catastrophic bleed can occur as a result of an accident in the workplace or the community and the Bleed Control Cabinets house Bleed Control Kits, designed for people nearby to help stem the bleed until a paramedic is on the scene to take over. The Kits can save lives in those vital first minutes of a catastrophic bleed.

“As part of our 25th birthday celebrations, Borg Locks wanted to leave some lasting legacies in our communities which would help to save lives. Borg Locks are used on the Bleed Control Cabinets, so it seemed an obvious choice to donate five of these, including the Bleed Control Kits, to communities and institutions chosen by the Daniel Baird Foundation.”

The first of the Bleed Control Cabinets donated by Borg Locks have been installed at Middleton Shopping Centre, Rochdale and two others have been sent to Inverclyde Council and Edinburgh for installation at the Haymarket Station. The remaining two cabinets will be installed in the UK shortly by the Daniel Baird Foundation.

“The tireless campaigning by Lynne Baird, Daniel’s mother, and the support of both regional Police and emergency services, means that over 8,000 Bleed Control Kits and several hundred cabinets have now been installed in locations across the UK and will be available to help save lives in the future.”
