The Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI) is the UK’s sole trade association representing the interests of the entire value chain of architectural hardware.
Borg Locks is proud to be a member of the Guild.
The GAI supports, assures and represents architectural ironmongers, wholesalers, and manufacturers around the world, promoting the highest standards of education, technical excellence and professionalism in our sector, and promoting these standards to the wider construction industry and its customers.
All GAI members sign up annually to its Code of Professional Conduct. This can form part of an end user’s supplier audit, and act as a minimum standard that the individual or organisation is expected to meet.
First and foremost, the GAI membership logo is a sign of a reputable and trustworthy organisation.
Membership of an association is a important decision and commitment for any business, and a sign that your supplier is serious about providing good value and reputable service alongside other like-minded organisations.
It provides guarantees that the supplier will be working to an adopted and managed standard, helping to provide assurances to the end-user.
GAI membership also means that there is somewhere to go for advice and help should things go wrong. A complaints process can help resolve the problem effectively, with the trade body acting as a mediator between the customer and the member organisation if necessary.
In the individual sphere, the RegAI logo shows that the individual is not only qualified, but is actively working to maintain their knowledge, and that this CPD is independently assessed. Always look for the RegAI logo when selecting an architectural ironmonger, and ask if your supplier employs or consults with a RegAI before employing them on your project.
When you consider that architectural hardware is such a vital component in building safety and security, it always pays to use a GAI member to deliver the reliable service and support required.
