The benefits of keyless locks and why a key override function might be useful

The benefits of a keyless lock

The most obvious benefit of a keyless lock is that there’s no need for a key to enter or exit. As long as you know the code and enter it correctly on the digital keypad, then your lock will function. It’s great if there are several people who might need a key to gain access as you won’t need to worry about lost keys, or them falling into nefarious hands.

However, sometimes you might need to override the locking mechanism on the lock, so a key override function can be a good safety net to have.

Why a key override function might be useful on a keyless lock

One of the main reasons a key can be useful is when there are multiple locks to control. Using Keyed Alike cylinders, a single keyholder can access all the doors with the same key without needing to know individual lock codes.

At Borg Locks we understand the importance of a key override for your lock, and that’s why offer a key override on 21 of our best-selling locks, including locks from the very popular 1000, 2000, 3000 and 5000 ranges.
